Happy New Year to all! 2020. Pacific Flake is busy getting ready for the 45th Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco. January 19-21, 2020.

The Winter Fancy Food Show is huge. I never get to see all of it. I am amazed at the countries from all over the world. It is beautiful. We get to meet other craftsmen and talk food. True food. There is a pavilion dedicated just to California. There are makers of all sizes. Huge corporations and boutique startups sharing their beautiful products. Nothing brings people together like food.

This year Pacific Flake will be offering a larger 10 lb "Chef Bag", a perfect size for the commercial kitchen or the bulk aisle at your local co-op.

Pacific Flake is the largest harvestry in California offering a fire-evaporated finishing flake salt, now offering white labeling and the opportunity to place orders by the ton.

In the last quarter, Pacific Flake saw a renewed interest in bulk sales. The trend for less packaging in the retail space is continuing to grow. Recent news reports of whales losing their life because of swallowing plastic trash have sent people into action.

As a nation, we can use less plastic. I myself, have made an effort to use single-use plastic only when traveling, and of course, the whole family recycles. I am pleased to see more and more public places offer water bottle refill stations.

A New Year also means a new commitment for some. For me, it means a new house, a new city, and a recommitment to health. 2019 was a difficult year health-wise. I am looking forward to the New Year. Good quality food leads to a good quality of life.

Together we can get the word out that there is a local, healthy, clean, flake sea salt available to everyone, not just three stared Michelin Chefs.
